Implementing Coalesce in a New Snowflake Environment

Restorative Elective Surgical Services (RESS) is a collaboration between St George’s Hospital, Forte Health, Motus, and the Surgeon’s Collective, delivering comprehensive surgical, hospital, rehabilitation, and vocational services under ACC’s Elective Care Pathways (ECP) programme.

The Opportunity
As part of a new initiative, RESS required a modern data warehouse to support reliable, near real-time reporting across multiple systems. The solution needed to efficiently extract data from various APIs, transform it for analysis, and make it readily available in Power BI, all while being scalable and cost-effective.

The Solution
Flock implemented a new Snowflake data environment, leveraging Coalesce to accelerate data modelling and transformation.
Coalesce’s web-based interface provided an intuitive, visual approach to building the ETL process, reducing the need for manual SQL and enabling faster iteration. Customisable code templates ensured flexibility as requirements evolved, and direct access to Coalesce’s support team provided added assurance during development.

Organisations unified through one modern data platform.

Near Real-Time

Refresh capability that supports timely reporting for elective care pathways.

The Outcome
By combining Coalesce’s automation capabilities with Snowflake’s scalability, RESS achieved a robust and high-performing data foundation.
The new platform now enables:

  • Rapid delivery of accurate, trusted data for reporting in Power BI

  • Easier scaling to accommodate new data sources and growing volumes

  • A cost-efficient, future-ready architecture supporting ongoing innovation

Together, these improvements have given RESS the confidence and capability to deliver timely, data-driven insights across its collaborative healthcare network.
